Spada's Sword

The recently restored Torre dello Spada stands in Parezzana, in a picturesque agrarian landscape.

Also known as San Donnini or Torre degli Spadoni, Torre dello Spada is a sixteenth century building erected in what used to be marshland. With all probability it was a lookout tower to protect the territory from the raids of florentine soldiers in the villages around Lucca.
